Jacqueline Deidra "Dee" (Burke) Crane, age 62, of Dover, DE, died peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2006, in her home, while surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Crane was born February 26, 1944 in Eglin Field, FL, daughter of the late SM Sgt. Eugene Burke and Jacqueline Ruth (Outten) Burke. A former real estate associate and property manager, she was a graduate of the California Escrow School and Katella Real Estate School. She graduated from the H.H Arnold High School, in Wiesbaden, Germany, and the Chandler School for Women, in Boston, MA. She was active in the community and served as a former publicity chairperson and luncheon chairperson for the New Comers Club of Dover. She was an active member of the 32nd Republican District Committee, and a former treasurer and chairperson. She was also a member of the American Heart Association, 2004 Heart Ball Auction Committee, the Republican Women's Club, and a Red Cross Volunteer. As a military dependent and wife, she traveled extensively with tours of service in NY, CA, Turkey, IL, Washington DC, FL, HI, MA, LA, AK, AR, France and Germany.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her daughter, Colleen Mary. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, John Murdoch Crane, Jr.; a son, John M. Crane, III; a daughter, Kathleen Deidra Crane; a beloved granddaughter, Shannon Marie Crane; a brother and sister-in-law, CM Sgt. David and Cindy Burke; a mother-in-law, Charlotte Burke; an aunt, Margaret George; a sister- and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Mike Kosmas, of Beaverton, OR; 4 nieces; and 2 nephews.

Friends may call from 7-9 pm this evening, July 19, at the PIPPIN FUNERAL HOME, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Thursday, July 20, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 South State Street, Dover. Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, in Frederica, DE.
